CPT Tommy (T.S.) Sowers, (Special Forces), Dept. Social Services, USMA. Captain Sowers gave a good look at the Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship program from his point of view. Being a Rotary Scholar, he has spoken to various Clubs about the program nd strongly adheres to the Rotary theme “Service Above Self. (Great presentation).
Curt Brewer passed on further information regarding the death of Doris Hiester, the wife of our club founder Ret. B.G Dave Hiester AOG class of ’36 (deceased) who passed away on March 28th. Her memorial service will be at West Point on May 7th at 1000 hrs. Deirdre Dixon, Doris & Dave’s daughter, is the program director for TECO Energy, Sykes College of Business, at the University of Tampa and can be reached at: 813-253-6271.
Worth repeating! May12th is the Blooming Grove/Washingtonville Dinner dance.
Phil Brillante’s Safety Tip - With spring coming, check old lawn mowers, check grounds for obstructions and last, wear proper clothing. Have a safe Spring!
