Did you ever have that “shot down feeling?” Well, if you were an enemy pilot attacking a B-17 flying fortress bomber during WWII you may have had it, especially if you saw a P-51 Mustang Fighter plane with a red tail right on your own tail! Our guest speaker was Ret. Major Glendon Fraser of the “Tuskeege Airmen, a squadron of black Americans who escorted our B-17s on missions over Europe, circa 1943-45. They have the distinction of not having lost one bomber in their charge! A Great job, and we salute them all in the 332nd Fighter Group.

 

Phil Brillante’s “safety tip for the week took a slight curve into the security field when he alerted all to secure house keys placed in hidden locations outside your home, to be used by yourself in the event you become locked out, etc. BE AWARE  that burglars have an uncanny way of locating them!

 

Theatre Party:   Time marches on and the theatre/dinner events approaches rapidly. Thoroughly Modern Millie” arrives on Sunday, May 7th 2006 in Eisenhower Hall”. All members are requested to lend a hand with this event. Get your reservations, checks and gifts to be donated in A.S.A.P.

 

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of month

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays)

Other Clubs’ Activities

Rotary Club of Fishkill - The Fishkill Club’s 5th Annual Softball Tournament will be held on May 7th. at Robert Shepheard Memorial Park in Fishkill. All proceeds go to “Operation Smile”.
