Rotary Last Week, August 4th

Joyce Evans, President of the Garden Club of The Highlands, related some of the accomplishments of the club in the Town of Highlands. She said Rotary has been a big help. Also,

the Vet’s plaques in Memorial Park will be restored, as well as the grass and the ground surface on the Mountain Ave. & Main Street side of the Memorial, where inscribed bricks

will be set in the ground in the rear of the monument. She said that her club would be grateful for any support from Rotary in this endeavor.

We will be updating information for our membership roster, so please make any inclusions, exclusions etc. on the handout. (E-Mail address is welcome!)

Phil Brillante – Phil wasn’t with us this past week, but this is to let him know we were all still scratching after his mosquito alert.

Remember! -Don Sagaria will have guest speaker Rick Segel appear at the Aug. 18^th meeting, His subject will be Retail Expert Opportunity.

He will also be featured at a seminar on 8/17 at 6pm. All are invited.

August 28th 6 pm – Gus Fishburne’s boat trip still lies on the horizon. Spread the word to other clubs! The fee is $20.00 per.

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4^th Wednesday of month.

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)

Jerry Sheehan’s Pushcart – Jerry says:

And buy a jacket, or perhaps a puck!”

Other Clubs’ Activities

New Windsor/Cornwall Club – Sept. 18. A picnic at Air Nat’l Guard Base, Stewart Airport. (They’re looking for participants.)

The Highland, NY Club is sponsoring the ‘Hudson Valley Rib Festival & Barbecue Contest’ on Aug. 19, 20 & 21 at the Ulster Cty. Campgrounds, New Paltz, NY. Enjoy.

Warwick Valley - 12^th Golf Outing on Oct. 5th at the Hickory Hill Golf Course in Warwick! Great day, lots of events! Win a new Ford. (Reg, forms distributed!)
