Also on August 26th, 1890: Annual football contests between Army & Navy began. Navy won, 24-0 (Oh well, so much for that!)

District Governor Bridget Auer and Pres. Roy Spells assisted
Ann Horner in “pinning” new member Brian Crawford. David Green,
was also present. Congratulations and welcome, Brian! Governor Auer noted several important items re: The Centennial Year and upcoming events relating to this.
She also discussed the Rotary Foundation and members
contributing to it. Rotary is also committed to combatting water related
diseases in which children die from contaminated water sources. She discussed
contributing to “Polio Plus”, and also the Centennial trip to
and the youngest female Governor in the District’s history.

Boat Ride: Gus Fishburne reminded all that the date and time of the annual boat ride is 6 p.m. Aug 29 at $20.00 per. (The week before Labor Day). Excellent menu! Get payments in by

Ben Birillo’s patriotic “Statue Of Liberty” scarf, which he donated to the club, is still on display. Get ‘em while they’re hot! See Gerry Sheehan if you’re interested in obtaining one. (Proceeds to the club.) Gerry also has both gray and white male and female shirts.
