1804 – Two hundred years ago today, in Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France, Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned Napoleon I, the first Frenchman to hold the title of Emperor

in a thousand years. Pope Pius VII handed Napoleon the crown, which the 35-year-old conqueror placed on his own head.

Rotary Last Week – November 18, 2004

This was a business meeting where much business occurred including: The “pinning” of new member Tom Buning, and the first posting of proposed member Alan Hirsch.

President Roy Spells informed the members that Shirley Bonsell is creating a brochure for inclusion in a historical booklet of the club’s activities since its inception in 1976.

Roy also discussed the clubs’ Constitution & By Laws; its goals; “Pure water, Polio Plus, The Paul Harris Foundation & Rotary Park.”

Fruit Sale –Bill Stone said fruit sale is now underway! $23.00 per case. Fruit will be unloaded and distributed on December 9^thin Buffalo Soldier Field. Order ASAP.

Christmas! - Reminder - The Christmas luncheon will be held on December 16^th. ($25 per.) Jim Donnelly needs numbers and checks PRONTO! There will be no large raffle,

just the usual one. Fund raising raffle to be held later on. Also: Please bring a gift to wrap.

Dave Weyant said the “Bell Ringing” would occur on December 18 & 19 at Key Food. He also said club finances are looking good.

Cecilia Solomon informed the members of a program to collect books & gym equipment for our troops. Anne Lennox also revealed a web site “helpingourheroes.com”.

Jerry Sheehan Reports: – Extra! Extra! We still have Ben Birillo’s artistically created Statue of Liberty Scarves. With the holiday’s rolling around, they make a nice gift. All

profits to the club! Get ‘em while they’re hot!
