1878 – Silver Dollars Made Legal!

Strongly supported by western mining interests & farmers, the Bland-Allison Act – which provided for a return to the minting of silver coins - became the law of the land!

 

Rotary Last Week

LTC Bill Adams, Center for Advanced Performance, gave our club the formula for “Peak Performance”. It includes many aspects, such as visualization & imagery, goal setting, stress management, confidence in any situation, etc. Focus on your successes. Use everything that happens as a stepping-stone to success. LTC Adams has addressed the club before, and today’s program was as great a learning experience as was his prior visit!  Hopefully we’ll see him here again! 

Phil Brillante – Fire! Was Phil’s safety tip for the day! Check fire extinguishers to insure proper operation during emergencies. Visually inspect them to insure there are no dents or corrosion to cause them to fail!!! 

Theatre Party:  Remember, it’s Thoroughly Modern Millie” on Sunday, May 7th 2006 in Eisenhower Hall”. Show at   3 pm; dinner will follow at 5pm.  Tell your friends! This is the Club’s major fund-raiser!

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop  will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm. 

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of month.

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)

Other Clubs’ Activities

Rotary Clubs of Beacon, Arlington, E. Fishkill, Highland, and Poughkeepsie are presenting a concert, Viva V.E.R.D.I. – for pure water. Sunday, March 12.  845-473-2972
