Rotary Last Week, December 29, 2005

Like last week, this was also a ‘round table’ meeting, at which the 13 attendees, not including a visiting Rotarian, Bruce Cohen of the Cornwall Club and his guest Mike Lynch, an engineer, exchanged best wishes. Also in attendance was the outgoing Supervisor for the Town Of Highlands, Bob Monroe, who was the guest of our own member Dave Monroe, who happens to be Bob’s son. Thanks for a job well done, Bob, and the best of everything in your future endeavors.

Phil Brillante closed the old year with a very pertinent safety message for us to carry into the New Year, especially in view of the unstable weather we’ve been encountering:

“If your vehicle breaks down, move it off the roadway! Call for assistance from outside the vehicle and remain at a safe distance from it until help arrives!” Thank’s, Phil!

Upcoming Slate of Officers – This is still pending.

Gossip Paragraph> Well, it looks like big doings in the Stone family in 2006! Bill’s daughter has become engaged, with a wedding soon to follow! Good luck to all those Rollin’ Stone’s. (Please don’t shoot!)

Theatre Party: Once again, OooooKlahoma will NOT be the Dinner-Theatre party. This was scrubbed for various reasons and will be replaced by “Thoroughly Modern Millie” in May.

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4^thWednesday of month.

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)
