Last Weeks Program
A round of applause was given to Steve Scott, Gus Fishburne, Curt Brewer and the club members for the “Service Above Self” plaque, which was awarded to Nicholas Barry. President Jerry Sheehan gave a rousing first meeting as Club President, with a film clip of former Int’l President Cliff Doucherman’s (1992-1993) “Unwritten History of Rotary”. Question: Was Nero really a Rotarian? This was a great, humorous presentation, and a good indication that our club is looking forward to a great year under Jerry’s direction. (“Bow, Jay Leno!) (Anyone need a shoit?)
Boat Ride – Sunday August 27. Gus ‘Skipper’ Fishburne disclosed that the annual boat ride will occur on this date.
Phil Brillante’s weekly safety tip concerned The Sun! Use caution against over-exposure to the sun on the upcoming hot days of July & August. Safeguard, by using lotions, umbrellas & seeking shaded areas, Safeguard children. Great safety reminder, Phil! (Message received by E.S.P.!)
Walk of Fame – Still walking… It is still undetermined at this writing as to where our sign will be placed. Still trying…
Holy Innocents Thrift Shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.
The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of month.
Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)
