Rotary Last Week – June 2nd

Rob Gordon introduced LTC Kip McCormick, ‘Center for Combatting Terrorism’, who gave a breathtaking historical overview on the U.N. Command in N. Korea, on both the military and political levels, commencing with the outbreak of hostilities between N. & S. Korea in 1950. In 1953, a military Armistice between the U.N. Forces and North Korea was established. This “Armistice” continues to this day under sometimes shaky circumstances. (This was a well presented, informative program!)

President Roy announced the third posting for “Buddy” Blackman.

Pres. Roy also notes the following dates:

June 9 at 7 pm., O’Neill H.S. Scholarship!

June 11, 10 am – Dedication – Memorial Park, Ft. Montgomery (behind police sta.)

June 14 – (Tuesday) Int’l Rotarians from India. (Dist 7490, Harold Spaeth.)

August 28^th 6 pm – Gus Fishburne “launches” us on the annual boat ride at West Point. (Get your sea legs together!)

Phil Brillante – Phil emphasized the importance of maintaining proper air pressure in tires. Check when tires are cold, use metal valve caps & keep stems clean!

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4^th Wednesday of month.

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)
