Jason Lynch gave a very informative program on the U.S. EPA methyl tertiary-butil ether (MtBE) in drinking water. It included a description of MtBE, its hazards, and protection against it. Some of us old timers remember a song by singer Vaughn Monroe in the late ‘40s called “Cool Water”. It describes a cowboy seeking water for both himself & his horse Dan, while searching the barren, desert waste. I doubt if the cowboy ever heard of MtBE in those days. His greatest concern was probably finding a riverbed, which had dried up. Well, we’ve come a long way since those days in identifying the hazards in drinking water, and Jason’s presentation was a real eye opener. Great Program.
Anne Lennox will be leaving Post on Monday, as Gen. Lennox heads into retirement. We wish them both our best, and with a sense of sadness will be losing Anne, a great Rotarian!
Phil Brillante’s weekly safety tip was received by the medium of ESP. His message was to be aware of the dangers of fireworks, as July 4th approaches!
John McLellan, upcoming V.P. is preparing a list of guest speakers for the coming Rotary year. Anyone who has someone of interest to speak, please see John. His list grows!
Walk of Fame – This project progresses. It is still undetermined where the sign will be placed.
Holy Innocents Thrift Shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.
The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4th Wednesday of month.
Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)
Rev. Judy Ferguson also announced an upcoming concert series; plays, Musicals, etc.
