1836 – Charles Dickens’ first installment of “The Pickwick Papers”, his first novel, is published under the pseudonym “Boz”.

Rotary Last Week – March 24th

Ltc. Coddington – USMAPS – gave a most informative presentation on the United States Military Academy “Prep” (preparatory) school since its inception in 1916, as the U.S. tottered

on the brink of WWI. It prepares students for entry into the U.S.M.A. at West Point with a military attitude. Now located in Ft. Monmouth, N.J., in 1946 they were centralized at Stewart

Air base in Newburgh, NY. The class of 2009 has the motto: Desire; Faith; Effort.

Pres. Roy said Ambassador Scholarship Comm. met with Cadet “Rusty” Issacs. (Also, Rotarians are coming here from England).

RYLA – Leadership awards (2), Mt. St. Mary’s in June.

Interact: Oneill H.S. – Phil Brillante said the “Penny War” is still ongoing.

District 7210 48^th Ann. Conference – May 13-15 at Villa Roma Resort. Centennial B’day.

Phil Brillante – In his ongoing “Safety” agenda, diversified from vehicle & home safety to “medical health”. Advised all to read “Wellness” brochure, U.C. Berkley.

Dinner Theatre – “Crazy For You”.

April 17^th at 2 pm Theatre, then dinner in the ballroom 5 pm - $80.00 per.

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm. The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4^th Wednesday’s of month.
