Notable Date In History –
Civil War 1863 - “Fierce fighting at the ‘Bloody Angle’ during the battle of Spotsylvania Court House VA, winds down after a weeklong struggle with heavy Union losses.” On May 9th,
Union General John Sedgwick, having admonished his men for crouching for cover and believing that enemy fire was too distant to be effective, stood up to his full height and was struck by an enemy ball. He died instantly. A statue of General Sedgwick stands on The Plain, opposite Trophy Point.

This was a business meeting and many items were discussed,
including upcoming events. Specifically mentioned was the Town cleanup, which
kicks off on May 15th at the Town Of
District Assembly meeting is scheduled for May 8th, from 8a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Best Western
Motel in
Installation Reception - The Installation Reception for the incoming officers will be held on the 9th of June at 5 p.m. at the Hotel Thayer.
A Thank you letter from Holy Innocents, re; food contributions were received.
