Rotary Last Week – May 19th

On a sad note: The membership was notified of the death of Brian Crawford’s mother, and to compound this sadness, Steve Scott’s mother passed away this last week.

They both have our deepest sympathy and prayers.

This was a business meeting.

President Roy described his attendance at the District 7210 48^th Annual Conference at the Villa Roma Resort. He said our club was one of 56% that received Presidential Citations.

Dave Monroe presented Michelle McKeon From the Orange County Shelter with $150 Destinta movie tickets for kids. (Destinta matches this amount.) (Good show!)

Phil Brillante – If you were feeling “ticked off” at the meeting, thank Phil. He noted that “tick” season is upon us, and he told us what to do (and what not to do) about them.

Phil passed out handy wallet size cards from the Lyme Disease foundation on combatting these dangerous insects! (Good job, Phil!)

Shelter boxes (Tsunami) contain $1800.00.

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm. The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4^th Wednesday’s of month.

(Products or cash, but cash goes further. Make checks payable to “Holy Innocents.”)

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)

Rev. Judy Ferguson commented on the availability of St. Marks Church.

Farrell Patrick spoke on the beautification of the Ft. Montgomery P.O. & Rotary Park. (Working on lighting the sign up, and seeking matching funds for the project.)

Tom Buning said he will be leaving W.P. to become Athletic Director at Anaheim Univ. in Grand Forks, N. Dakota July 1^st.

Ann Horner & Mike Moss will depart soon.

Jerry Sheehan’s Pushcart - Jerry says:

“Business is good but the weather’s still cold,

So buy a rain jacket you can carry and fold!”
