Brigadier General Patrick Finnegan, Dean of Academics at the Academy, gave a most interesting talk on both his background and his present duties as Dean. He was born in Japan, and became Judge Advocate in the Dept. of Law in 1999. He said the Academic focus is to make leaders, problem solvers, and compete for top scholastic achievement. He said there are 43 majors available at the Academy, including subjects ranging from Nuclear Engineering to Computer Sciences. He said the key to success is faculty, and that West Point is in 4th place for Rhodes Scholarships! (A most inspiring program.)
