How does the saying go “Death & Taxes?”

Our own member, Prof. “Buddy” Blackman, Office of Resources Mgmt., gave a brilliant breakdown on the “Fair Tax Act.” This Act calls for the repeal of the 16^th Amendment to the Constitution. “Buddy” recommended “The Fair Tax Book” at www.fairtax.org for further reading & information.

Phil Brillante’s Safety News: Roy Spells noted that he is subbing for Phil, who is presently in New Orleans. Roy’s safety recommendation for fire prevention week is that we have carbon monoxide detectors as well as fire extinguishers in good working order.

Theatre Party Note: Harold Spaeth says: Don’t forget: Start making plans for the Theatre party on January 8, 2006. (The cost is still to be determined but we’ll know soon.)

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4^thWednesday of month.

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)

Other Club’s Activities

The Warwick Valley Club is presenting their ‘250’ Club. (Fund-raiser date rescheduled to 11/5.) All proceeds to benefit the District’s Raise the Roof campaign in Granada.

(At the business meeting on 9/21, the board voted to contribute $500 to this effort.)
