Michael Graber, Pres. Fort Montgomery Battle Site Assn.: That long ago battle was relived by the words, diagrams, and pictures presented by Mike Graber during his narration of the events that enveloped the 5^th New York Regiment on October 6, 1777 at Forts Montgomery and Clinton. Both Forts are located on either side of the Popolopen Creek, below where the present day Bear Mountain Bridge stands. Though the American’s lost, both sides suffered heavy losses and the action had a much larger effect by disrupting British reinforcements from reaching Saratoga, where the British surrendered to the American Army. This upset the British strategy in the American Colonies.

Once again, the membership was informed that the new weather calenders are in and will be distributed shortly. They boldly display our club’s name as well as great pictures. They will sell for $7.00 per.

Phil Brillante’s tip last week concerned the “leaf sucking season.” With the Advent of Mother Nature’s annul ritual of turning the green foliage into magnificent colors that means that the falling leaves are sure to follow and will demand to be raked, shredded, or otherwise disposed of. Utilize all safety equipment for this task, such as goggles, earplugs, and proper clothing.

Holy Innocents Thrift Shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.

The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4^thWednesday of the month.

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm

Judy Ferguson said that Holy Innocents will be hosting a Polish Dinner on Sept. 23.

Josh Brewer – Oct, 7^th is Student Youth Exchange. There will be 10 students, from Fri. to Sun. AM.
