Rotary Last Week – March 17th

This was a Business Meeting: Items addressed by Pres. Roy included:

Tsunami fund. Total raised: $1957. (Thanks to Kate  & Thayer Hotel for their efforts.)

Success of Rotary: - Intermingle with other clubs. Share items such as dinner/theatre, etc.

Membership – Seek out new members!

Alan Hirsch – Chairing fund-raising comm.

(Members presented many innovative ideas.)

Scholarship Committee: Scholarships are for Burke, O’Neill, and NYMA. (Town of Highlands.)  Rob Gordon has sponsored Cadet Rusty Issacs for Ambassador College:

McMullin Endowment, U.K. If chosen, Rob will invite him to a meeting. 

RYLA – Leadership awards (2), Mt. St. Mary’s in June.

Interact: Oneill H.S. – Phil Brillante said Dave Sutton in the school is the rep.

Next year’s Christmas luncheon:  Shirley Bonsell will take over for Mike Moss, who will be retiring and leaving the area.

Literacy in Guatemala. (Pres. Roy updated.)

District 7210 48th Ann. Conference – May 13-15 at Villa Roma Resort. Centennial B’day.

James I. O’Neill H,S. ($100 to Senior Bash.)

Phil Brillante – Again gave all a “heads  up” on safety, this time directing our attention  to “night vision”. Make sure vehicle lights, including back up, auxiliary, and headlights

are in proper working order. Also, be alert!

Dinner Theatre – “Crazy For You”.

April 17th at 2 pm Theatre, then dinner in the ballroom 5 pm - $80.00 per.

The Holy Innocents Church thrift shop will be operating every Thurs. 10 am to 1 pm.  The Holy Innocents food pantry, 2nd & 4th Wednesday’s of month.

(Money donations preferred (It goes further.)

Sacred Heart Thrift Shop open 10am – 2pm; (4:30 Thursdays.)

Jerry Sheehan’s Pushcart: -
