Notable Sept. 9th in history                

1863 – Yankees enter Chattanooga, Tenn.

Union General William Rosecrans completes a brilliant campaign against the army of Confederate General Braxton Bragg when his forces capture Cattanooga, Tennessee.

 

Rotary Last Week, Sept. 2

Some of the happenings at the meeting were:

Pres. Roy Spells announced that October 9th will be the Exchange Students’ Football game.  Anyone interested in hosting a student, let Roy know.

Gus Fishburne related that 85 persons showed up for Sunday’s boat ride. All had a good time. (No one missed the boat!)

President Roy said that the Centennial project Park is still moving along.

Reminder: On February 23, 2005, the meeting will be held on Wednesday instead of Thursday in Commemoration of Rotary’s Centennial Celebration. It will coincide with clubs throughout the World.

Fishing trip – Att ‘n Anglers: Phil Brillante’s fishing trip set for September 15th. Plenty of seats left. Bring a guest.

Jerry Sheehan - Still selling Ben Birillo’s Patriotic “Statue Of Liberty” scarf, which Ben donated to the club.  (Proceeds to the club.)

Jerry also has both gray and white male and female shirts with Rotary Logo. (Looks sharp!)

Think Christmas! -Mike Moss again gave a “heads up” that the Christmas luncheon will be upon us before we know it. Get in the spirit early!

New Windsor/Cornwall club.  Annual Charity Golf Outing. Sept. 13, 2004 at the   Powelton club, Newburgh, NY. Shot gun start at 9:30 A.M. Register 8:30 A.M.
